Privacy Policy

"GreenRead Pro" (the "App") respects user privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what types of information are handled when you use the App, how that information is used, and how it is protected. Please read the following carefully before using the App.

1. Information Collected and Purpose of Use

1.1 Information from Camera, LiDAR, and Sensors

To measure slope, distance, elevation difference, and break on golf greens, the App acquires and uses the following information on-device:

Camera feed: Camera imagery on your device (AR space via ARKit / RealityKit) is used for distance/slope measurement and overlaying results on screen.
LiDAR depth map: Depth information captured by the LiDAR scanner (Scene Depth) is used to estimate the 3D green surface, elevation difference, and slope.
Device posture/motion data: Device tilt (X/Y axes) and camera posture from CoreMotion and ARKit are used for posture meter display, posture guidance, and measurement correction.
AR tracking information: World coordinates and tracking state generated by ARKit are used to calculate relative positions and measured values between placed Ball and Pin.

Processed on-device: These image/depth/sensor data are processed in real time only on your device. They are not saved as photos or videos and are not sent to external servers.

1.2 Information Created/Saved in the App

Settings values: Distance unit, depth averaging kernel, break midpoint count, placement magnifier settings, left-handed mode, green speed, font size, layout settings, line colors, posture meter display settings, etc.
Usage status: Agreement status for first-launch terms and cumulative trial usage time.
Trial first-launch timestamp: Free trial start timestamp (saved in Keychain to prevent trial reset by reinstall).
Settings backup data: Settings exported by user as JSON files. Export destination is chosen by the user.

1.3 Purchase Information

Purchase status through the App Store (StoreKit), including whether the full version has been purchased. This status is also stored on-device for launch-time display behavior.

*Payment information related to purchases (for example, credit card numbers) is managed by Apple and is not retained by this App.

1.4 Advertising-Related Information

When the app is not purchased, banner ads are shown at the top of screens. The App uses Google's Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) for ad delivery.
For ad delivery, fraud prevention, and effectiveness measurement, Google may collect information such as device type, OS version, language, IP address, and ad display/interaction information.
The App does not request permission for cross-app/website tracking (App Tracking Transparency) and does not use IDFA for advertising purposes.

2. Purposes of Use

The App uses collected information for the following purposes:

Real-time processing of camera and LiDAR depth data to calculate distance, elevation difference, slope, and break
On-screen rendering of Ball, Pin, baseline, aim line, rolling line, slope direction arrows, and related overlays
Measurement support via posture meter display and posture guidance
Saving and applying settings related to measurement and display
Backup (export) and restore of settings data
Verification/restoration of purchase status and free-trial period management
Banner ad display for unpaid mode

*The App does not independently use collected measurement data for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage Location and Retention

Camera feed, LiDAR depth data, and sensor data used for measurement are processed in real time on-device and are not stored.
Settings values and cumulative trial usage time are stored only on-device using Apple's framework (UserDefaults).
The trial first-launch timestamp is stored in the device Keychain.
Settings backup is exported as JSON only when explicitly initiated by the user, and only to the destination selected by the user.
The App does not send or store your measurement/settings data on external servers (except ad delivery traffic).
If you uninstall the App, local settings data will be deleted. However, the trial first-launch timestamp (Keychain) remains to prevent trial reset by reinstall.
You can reset settings to defaults at any time via "Reset to Default Settings" in the Settings screen.

4. Third-Party Sharing

The App does not sell, rent, or provide user information to third parties except when required by law.

However, the App uses the following external services, and information may be processed under each provider's policies:

Apple (StoreKit): Purchase processing and purchase restore/verification are performed through Apple's StoreKit.
Google (Google Mobile Ads SDK / AdMob): Banner ad delivery is performed through Google's ad platform.

*The App cannot independently control scope or retention duration of data sent to these providers. Please refer to each provider's privacy information.

*Measurement data processed on-device (camera feed, LiDAR depth, sensor data) is not provided to third parties.

5. Information Protection

The App takes the following measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of handled information:

Image/depth/sensor data for measurement are processed only on-device, without storage or external transmission
Settings data are stored in iOS app sandbox storage to limit access from other apps
Trial first-launch timestamp is stored in Keychain
External communication is limited to ad delivery and uses Apple/Google provided mechanisms

6. User Choices (Opt-in / Opt-out)

Camera access can be allowed/denied anytime via iOS permissions. If denied, measurement features cannot be used.
Measurement/display settings can be changed anytime in the app settings screen.
Settings backup (export/restore) is optional and not required to use measurement features.
Banner ads can be removed by purchasing the full version. Without purchase, measurement features are available in limited trial mode.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If minors use the App, please do so with guardian consent.

8. Disclaimer

The App is a measurement aid for understanding green slope tendencies and does not provide medical advice or guaranteed play decisions.
Displayed slope, distance, elevation difference, and break values may include errors due to LiDAR performance, direct sunlight, wet grass, measurement distance, device posture, hand shake, and other factors. Values are reference estimates and not guaranteed to be absolutely accurate.
The App requires a LiDAR-equipped device (iPhone 12 Pro or later, iPad Pro).
Electronic device use during rounds may be restricted by tournament or local rules. Please verify before official competition use.
Any decisions based on displayed results are at the user's own responsibility. The developer is not liable for damages arising from use of the App.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when necessary. In case of significant changes, we will provide notice in the app or on distribution pages. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
